Georgia History

On Thursday, Noah and I took a 3 1/2 hour bus ride, with 80 other 4th graders and parents to the southern boarder of Georgia. We walked along the beach at Tybee Island, (wow the sand is sure soft on this coast!) We also visited Fort Pulaski in Savannah, GA. Wow! The civil war comes to life when you walk where the people really walked.

Noah loved the sand and waves

Fort Pulaski

Inside 7 foot thick walls of the fort.

Original fort doors - as you pass over the draw bridge there are two sets of doors. Beautiful. And to think that they were touched by men of the past.

Listening to the history of the fort, and watching a musket be loaded and shot. It was very loud!

Though the drive was long, the sights were beautiful.
We could not have asked for a nicer day squeezed between 2 wet days.
Wish you could have joined us.

Hey Shannon! When I saw the picture of the pier, I thought that it looked very familiar. I went to Tybee with a friend of mine in October. They go every year. It was very enjoyable!
